I'm having a bit of trouble about the differences between macbeth and lady macbeth. I have to write an essay on both their character developments compared. For example the teacher told us to write about how macbeth graudally went crazy slowly and how lady macbeth was calm throughout the play until she finally had one sudden breakout at the end of the play. Could you explain and emphasize please

Can you find one scene or one speech late in the play that shows Lady Macbeth suddenly losing control?

Macbeth's gradual disintegration might be a little trickier. Maybe you could find a big contrast between the way he is at the beginning of the play (either the way he speaks and acts or the way others talk about him) and the way he is at the end. Once you've spotted that dramatic difference, it might be easier to find the moments along the way at which he loses it bit by bit.

I would suggest that you first understand that the play is talking about pride, ambition and greed. So, describe these traits for both Macbeth and Lacy Macbeth. Describe how these faults grow for each character in differing ways, and lead to their eventual downfall. You might score some points by pointing out to your teacher that LM is not necessarily calm, but since her weapons are not those of Macbeth, reaches for her goals as a woman of the period would have to, and indeed exhibits an ever increasing desperation to achieve what she wants.
