Mary Jo: Do you deserve all THAT money? It could sure go to HELPING others who are poor so we'd all be equal. Btw, not all the rich earn their money.

And people care about money as opposed to satisfaction with a job well done?

Freedom for All, stop freakin' calling me an idiot. It doesn't help your position. Yeah, it doesn't make you cool by dumbing down what you saying because you think I can't understand it otherwise. I'm 17 and will be 18 by next Nov, so I will be able to vote by then lol. By the way, I think we should eliminate money, but rather provide veryone with basic resources regardless of job.

Not everyone can be a doctor or a lawyer, etc because they do not have skills to get there and the educational system is crap. And do you really care about extra money anyways? What are you going to do? Buy another SUV? Guess it makes you feel GREAT when your neighbour can't even afford one and people are starving everywhere. Hey K.K, thanks for being my English teacher 'cause i obviously care SOOOOOOO much.

KK: Do you realize that not everyone can get a degree? If someone has 43% in English but tries really hard, how can they graduate let alone pursue education at a post secondary level?

JJ, the rich are rich because we are smarter about investments. I have a higher education and I work a normal job (40 + hours a week) AND have my own business. What you are saying is that I should be paid the same as some clown that barely graduated high school, spent all their time on myspace, and have mommy and daddy give them their money. What you are saying is a little bit insulting and shows you don't understand how the real world works. I should be paid more for my ambition and drive. Communism does not work. You can't evenly distribute wealth because not everyone is equal. There are people that are smarter and work harder than you or I. My brother in law is a real estate broker. He drives a Porche Cayenne. However, he works 7 days a week and takes off 2 weeks a year. He deserves more money then the high school slacker or that Mcdonalds burger flipper.

I think there are three reasons why they don't distribute it to others:

1. Its hard earned money.
No matter what you say, they still worked for that money. They made critical decisions, risky investments which makes the money hard earned. Would you like to distribute your hard earned money to others so you will all have money? hmmm.

2. People won't work.
People will stop being independent and will be more dependent to those who shower them with graces. They will just ask for money and not work. Another result when people won't work is that there would be no more products produced. No more people doing jobs like selling food in the market, no body will fish. Why? because they already have money. So why work when the rich will just shower the poor money?

It will also hinder the learning of a person in being resourceful and proactive.

3. Everybody will be poor
As much as distributing wealth will promote equality, it will also put the future of people in the dark. What if the money runs out? And then everybody goes poor! Nobody will have enough money to buy anything or start a business and the once great minds of men would go back to the basics of doing hunts for food and so on.

Do you like to hunt for your food?

Think of everything in a long term perspective. Yes, people will be happy and will live comfortably when wealth distribution is done but until when?

I hope I have answered your question. :)

The rich get paid so much because for starters, they work hard to get to where they are...or, they, inherit their father's hard earned money, or well invested money (sometimes called "old money") or, they, attend college to earn a degree to become a professional, (doctors, lawyers, engineers), or, they make wise investments in the financial market. However, if you don't do any of these, then, you have to become rich by working really hard and strive to succeed...in turn, you will become a better person knowing that you did it on your own merits! Do you understand that concept? Did it really sink in, because you keep asking the same questions.

Good luck! Peace!

JJ, now you're being obnoxious...what I do with my money, is my business...if I want to buy a LAMBORGHINI, then I will buy it, I will not buy an SUV, let the poor people work hard for their money instead of stealing from the rich....who are YOU to judge people...who died and made YOU GOD?????

PEACE!

Good evening, JJ!

Risk. Most people who make big bucks took great risks financially and personally to do so. They invested everything they had - sometimes sacrificing personal lives, risking every penny, invested all of their time, brains and sweat and made something work. Most people in this country are not willing to risk everything they have - or could beg or borrow - on an idea becuse the rate of failure is very very high. But for those who do succeed, the reward is sweet.

JJ... Go live in El Freakistan where you can live in your socialist utopia...

People don't get paid equally because they don't do equal work. Flipping burgers is a far cry from having 1000's of people depending on you to make the best decisions for your company.

Get an education.

Society pays people what it thinks the job is worth. If you think your health is worth minimum wage laborer tending you go to a person that didn't go to school to heal you. The taxman thinks ALL the dollars you are paid belong to him.

If you wish to get paid more create more wealth in the world some of that wealth will be returned to your pocket.

There is nothing wrong with making money from starting businesses.

Unless you inherit a lot of money, you have to work for it. The richest Americans all had to work to make money

Surprisingly, most people that are born rich are usually Democrats.

I agree with you. America is basically a elitist society. It is a myth we learn in school that if you just "work hard" you can make the most money". If anything, it is highly hierarchal. Doctors, lawyers, judges, most come form rich families. Same with everyone who runs the media, institutions, corporations. No one will share the wealth its not set up that way. The rich would like to believe they have gotten wealth by divine right or hard work or anything but how they actually got it::::from their families wealth and connections. Take away that and their delusion about hard work and progenitors rights would be shattered. Also, people who think they are above others or work harder then them because they have a more valued job and are in our society is just plain ignorance. Wealth does not equal superiority over your fellow human beings! Jesus said it is harder for a camel to pass through a needle then for a rich man to go to heaven. Having never worked at a McDonalds, retail, or at hard, heavy backbreaking labor they will never know that we too work 50+ hours a week at jobs working with the obnoxious public such as them, having to put up with and work much harder then they do and with little of the respect they get and think they deserve.. They think that just because they make more money that they work harder not true at all. I am not less intelligent then they are just because of a job. Lets put them in my situation and see how they would react, proly quit on the first day. They just haven't really lived and had to work out there, having forever been sheltered and helped along by the family's money and influence. Look if their parent's and relatives are in law, government, medical, or professional positions and they own land they are in the bourgeoisie and should be treated as such. You think they would admit any of this???Nope, its not in their best intrests to. They want to think they are better, to hold onto what they have and possesses. Human Nature at its worst. Remember you can't take it with you where we are all going.

Are you old enough to vote? Please God tell me you are not old enough to vote.

People get paid what the market will bear. A person flipping burgers only gets paid a small amount because burgers are cheap. You can't pay someone $100,000 for selling a $5 hamburger. A person selling airplanes gets paid a large amount because airplanes are expensive. You can pay someone $100,000 for selling a $1,000,000 airplane. Get it? Supply and demand, cost of goods sold, basic math? Maybe you have not got that far in school yet.

Nobody "gives" them all that money, they earn it. They are the ones coming up with innovative new ideas and taking the risks to earn that money. You can't "give" them what you don't have. You're more than welcome to go out and give YOUR money to people less fortunate than you so that you and those unfortunates can be equal. Advocating the government redistribute other people's wealth is advocating theft and is no better than mugging people in the streets.
