It is not a good idea to add formula to make it thicker. If you are using the powder formula, try either the concentrate or ready to feed kind. They are usually a little thicker than the powder. If you are on WIC, you should be able to get the concentrate but not the ready to feed. If neither of those work, you can add cereal, but I would talk to the doctor first.

The only thing that would do is make the formula stronger. You should only do that if your baby needs more calories and your doctor tells you too. I would add some rice cereal to the formula. But only under the advice of your doctor. Most doctors wont recomend this unless you baby has some sort of feeding problem such as reclux. If you do thicken you babies formula start with about 1 tablespoon of rice cereal per 3-4 oz.

DO NOT add more formula unless a doctor has told you to do so, adding more or less formula than required can make your baby VERY sick, if you need thicker formula you can buy a thickened formula from pharmacies and supermarkets.

Don't put more formula than is intended per ounce of water.

If you need a thicker formula, there are some on the market.

don't do that. Not only will your baby get constipated, your baby's system will have to work extra hard due to the extra formula and this is not healthy

it might thicken it a bit but it would also make it stronger and most likely give your baby a bellyache. if you need to thicken a bottle, add a little bit (not a whole lot) of baby rice cereal.

Yes. It's dangerous because it dehydrates your baby. Dehydrated babies are miserable, they throw up a lot and they can die. If you're having feeding issues, talk to your doctor. Doctors know lots about formula.
