An old copy of Streets and Trips I have lists it as 1095.3 miles and 17 1/2 hours (that's generally averaging near 65 mph).
Google Maps also says 1095 miles, and says just over 17 hours.
Neither of those take into account the fact you'll gain a clock hour driving into CST... but it'll still be that much driving.
I used to travel back and forth from Orlando to Norman, Oklahoma a few times a year driving, which is about 1350 miles. It's definitely a VERY tough drive to make in one day, especially by yourself (hopefully you know your limits... I don't think I'd do it these days myself)... but if one person can drive and the other person nap a bit, you could get it done in about the time listed.
A rule of thumb my dad taught me was to make 300 miles every 4 hours a goal. That's a bit high, at 75 mph... and has to include all of your stops. If you could somehow do it, you could make it in only 14 1/2 hours.... but I think that's pushing it a little. Still, if you average just over the speed limit and really cut the stops short, you could probably get there in 16 under 16 hours, since it's all interstate.
The big question will be how many stops you want to make. If you aren't interested in grabbing food to go constantly and rushed rest stops, it'll take longer. Depends whether you're short on time or just interested in relaxing and making the road trip with the friend as enjoyable as can be.
I've never been up near the northeast... but it looks like you'll be going right down the spline of the Appalachians in western VA... so that offers some opportunities. I can't think of any particular places down further south... except Cumberland Falls park in S KY (you'd have to change your route a little... but it'd only cost you about an extra hour). Haven't been there in many years, but definitely liked it.
Honestly, if you are interested in having a good trip, I'd probably leave near dawn, maybe make a little stop in western Virginia... drive until pretty late (and hopefully get to maybe Knoxville, TN), get a hotel, then get up at a semi-decent time and drive the last 6 hours on to Memphis. Would probably be the best way to divide it up.
But the great thing about driving is you have the freedom to do things however you want to!
I'm not sure what you're looking for in terms of a driving target, and I haven't been up much near the NE... so I don't have anything specific to suggest. Maybe somewhere like Chicago or the Outer Banks in North Carolina?
Anyways, hope you enjoy it if you go!

can take a full day if you share the driving and leave about 6 AM, get there around 9 PM. If not in a hurry, suggest you break the drive down into 2 days, stopping north of DC, maybe Baltimore area overnight.

No you can say EXACTLY whilst anything will likely be introduced wherever. How lengthy it takes depends upon the way you send it -- if through USPS, will you utilize media mail, top notch mail, parcel submit? First magnificence is the quickest and such a lot high priced. If you send through UPS, FedEx or DHL, as soon as once more it's going to rely at the form of provider you decide upon. It might arrive tomorrow or it might take five or six days.
