Now I really feel old. There are only a few dances that I am able to pull off. The jitterbug is one of them, which I love to do. I can't dance to any other fast ones, other that the Twist. That tells you how old fashioned I am. :o(

The jitterbug was a dance popular from the late 1930's until the demise of the Big Band Era inthe late 1940's. It was a variation of the Lindy and incorporated a little swing. True experts of the dance swung partners through their legs, balanced on one hip then the other, threw them over their backs, synchronized side by side steps, then front to front with kick steps between each others legs( close to the floor of course) usually performed by skinny guys and gals at a fairly fast tempo.

If you can remember when it was first popular, you've probably been in bed a while, too.
Yes, I can, along with a few other swing variants, but it isn't as easy as it used to be.
