I read a few answers, just to be sure no one else said what I planned to say. If they did, I thumbs-up and move on. If there's already a page two, I move on anyway.

I usually just answer as it would take too long to read all the answers first. Occassionally I will read the answers to see if someone has already given the advise I was going to give (like medical advise in the pets section) and if so then I will give a thumbs up for that answer and a thumbs down for any answer that is totally wrong. If no answer is what I wanted to say then I will write my own. I would say I do that as a lot of the time I spend on yahoo is in the pets section and a lot of the time the same question is repeated many times and I get tired of writing the same answer. I know I don't get any points but in that section I think it is important for the owner to get the right answer to help their pet! In other sections I hardly ever read the other answers if I am going to answer. Sometimes I read answers when I am interested in knowing the answer to the question (but obviously I don't answer that question). So I guess I would have to say I do a bit of both! In this case I didn't read the other answers first!

I do read other answers, BUT ONLY after I have given my answer. If I do decide to answer a question it is on what I feel and or believe to be a good truthful answer. NOT on what others feel and or believe. After I have given an answer, I will read other answers and see how others feel on the given question.

I'll read the first few to make sure that nobody's already given the answer that I want to give, and if they have I usually just give them a thumbs up and move on.
