If the first human came from Africa, then the whole world is mixed.

Well... According to National Geographic Explorer Thomas Jefferson's DNA showed that he was of Middle Eastern Ancestry.

It isn't just America my friend!!

With the slave trade, the way the Roman's took control of the world, and just the general "Wander Lust" of the human species we are ALLLLLLLL a mix of more types of race and creed then you could ever know.

I know that I am German, Austrian, English, and Swedish... But that only means that my ancestors were CITIZENS of that country when they married and had kids...

With the constant breeding we humans do there is NO SUCH THING as a "Pure" race...

A "Black" person can have dozens of races in their ancestry...
A "White" person can have dozens...

The only way you can be anything CLOSE to "Pure" anything is if your people have been inbreeding for a minimum of 1000 years.

If you look at how many people actually make up your family tree you are, literally, related to millions of people on earth RIGHT NOW!!

They explained it on 60 Minuets a few months ago...

You have 2 parents...
Each of them has 2 parents...
Each of them has 2 parents...
Each of them has 2 parents...
Each of them has 2 parents...
Each of them has 2 parents...

You = 2+4+8+16+32+64...

The number of people keeps doubling and doubling so that after just a few generations you have hundreds and hundreds of relatives.

I can almost guarantee that if we go back far enough both YOU AND I share an ancestor or two… No matter who you are!

I am a white American but We know in our family there was somebody ASIAN>We keep having kids here and there myself included that look exotic. We always got called jap or chinagirl in school. My eyes were always made fun of.Some of the babies look oreintal and my dad just really looked it all his life but so much more in his later years. WE just dont know where it is in the family line only that its on my Dads side.My neice complains all the time of being asked if she is chinese.Last year a man from the phillipines asked me if I was part phillipino. Asians are drawn to me.Often older ones I dont know will come and sit with me to talk at the mall or really anywhere. Yes we are mixed but why doesnt anyone know anything?

I have often heard that many people are of mixed heritage and don't know about it, but it is not really a large percentage. I imagine back in the old days, people felt ashamed of that kind of thing. If they could "pass" as white, they did, and wouldn't tell anyone that their family was mixed. I'm glad it's not like that today!

That has to be true but I would put the percentages a lot higher like most whites have at least 15 to 20% black and half Indian or hispanic. No one in the USA is a pure anyting.

I'm quite sure many southerners are. My family owned slaves in Virginia and Georgia, and many plantation owners raped their female slaves and had children. Over the years, they bred with white people more and more often, so eventually the people looked completely white, even though their great, great, great, great Aunt was black. I don't know if I have any black blood in me, because I'm about as white as they come, but like I said--these rapes did happen, and somewhere down the line I'm sure my family did it too. This was (obviously, duh) before I was born, and none of my ancestors from back then are alive today, so I guess I'll never know.

America was populated by people from all over the world therefore all Americans are of mixed race.
there is no such thing as a pure American
they are all mongrels

the only people who are not mongrels are the Native Americans who had their land stolen from them...I doubt they would call themselves American though.

Blacks tend to be mixed, due to slave women raped by white slave owners, before the invention of birth control.

Many Indians are part white due to the kidnapping of white women and chidren, when their men were killed.

Canada allowed Chinese men to come into our country, to work on building the railroads, but oddly NOT Chinese women; so they married whites or Indians out of necessity, for an entire generation.

I think there is much less mixed race genetics among whites in the USA, for many reasons ncuding status symbols and racism.

There used to be a taboo on inter-ratial marriages!

I myself am a Canadian white man who married a mixed-race woman with a white dad and an Indian mom.

Of course it's true, but many of us DO know it. I appear white, but I have quite a bit of Cherokee and a bit of African and Portugese as well, and I'm proud of it.
