TGI Fridays was the worst spot I have ever worked in. Ive been there for a month and learned alot and did the best job I could. Ive served before in gourmet so I know what I was doing.

But since these "tween snotty obnoxious servers decided to tell my boss "oh I don't think hes learning it" My boss fires me and says I don't think you're coming along. How would you handle it? luckily I have another job and only did this part time but the other servers weren't very sociable at all to me. What is the best way to leave? Im not going to stand there like a donkey and say Oh thank you for the opportunity.

BTW not as a parting jab but Id seriously recommend that no one eat there. All there food is pre frozen the kitchens are disgusting with trash over the floor and not all the cooks wear gloves while preparing your food

Go out with a bang and make some major boo boos, so much fun. My brother did that before he left McDonalds when we were in high school and worked there together.

I'm not trying to blame you or your co-workers, but when you're working, it's generally not a good idea to socialize much with your co-workers. However, given that you are unhappy with your job, I would talk with your boss about your experiences working there. If things don't improve, then hand in a two-weeks notice. You can even state why your leaving in a professional manner. If you think that you were treated particularly unfairly--especially if it was witnessed by customers or other employees, then you can also write a letter to someone that's higher up.

Also, please don't be completely discouraged from getting fired from the resturant. Yes, getting fired sucks, but, several years from now, chances are that firing from the resturant is not going to really matter in the bigger scheme of things. If an employer does ask about your firing, be honest about your actions and the situation w/o pointing fingers, and follow up with what you learned about yourself as a result.

Hope this helps

i think that you should ask the two snotty servers why they don't think that you are coming along, and ask your boss for another chance, since you said that you have done the best job you could.
I would ask my boss what i was doing wrong and ask for another oppurtunity since I definitely did my best. If my boss refuses to do so, then i will leave my job with pride and tell the boss that it was unfair of him/her as a leader to give me another shot or not telling me i should've done somethin else or corrected a mistake because a boss can't judge you fairly without you knowing their expectations.

best to just IGNORE three idiots . two servers probably threatended by your knowledge AND an stupid boss that didn't make his/her own decisions.

don't let this effect your self worth / confidence.

YOU ARE GOOD at what you did and have nothing to be embarrassed about.

I'd refer to it as a situation that "was not a good fit". say no more / no less. it's sort of universal code. you can't blast a previous employer . if you were only employed there a short time / dont' list in for your epxerience / resume.

sounds to me like you already handled it. if you MUST say something, tell your boss it was interesting working there.... to see how a family restaurant handled customers as opposed to a gourmet place.

the other wait staff was standoffish because they probably felt one-up'd by you. have you ever seen the show The Weakest Link? the point was to vote others off till it was just you and 1 other person in a one on one contest to see who earned the most cash..... well it always ended with the 2 dumbest people left at the end. they were just smart enough to get rid of the intelligent players. the show went off the air, cause viewers got tired of watching 2 dumb asses going at it, and missing simple, simple questions. it became boring.

Well -- YOU are the weakest link. the dumb ones were just smart enough to realize you were competition, and got rid of you by insinuation. it's called jealousy. basically, whenever YOU know you're good at something, but others criticize you, it's because they ARE jealous. they won't admit it... they may not even realize it... but no one who has ever been jealous had a kind thing to say about the person they saw as a threat.

you should just leave gracefully.

You got fired. You say OK, turn your stuff and leave. There's nothing else to say or do.

Getting fired isn't the end of the world and it doesn't appear you had a very good attitude about working there. Take it as a blessing and move on. Cop a better attitude at the next job and maybe you will do better.

Unless you really need that extra cushion just leave, especially if you're being treated like poo. You seem above on that teeny-bopper crap. Or just stay long enough to get a new part-time gig. And if you have no plans to work there again make sure you tell them where they can go and what they can do.

no..if you must, tell the truth, but don't expect a reference letter...(you probably won't get one anyway...) but I'd tell the manager what went on, and then I'd tell corporate. (TGI Fridays doesn't stand for people being abused at their stores...I turned a bunch in one time and they fired the manager...cause I told the truth. I didn't even work there, I was a customer.)(the manager made all the people there scared of her..she bawled them out in front of the customers, she kept them angry all the time...it was a nightmare.)

Just leave with your dignity intact. They will soon forget you and you will soon forget them. Unless you act like an idiot.

By the way, what kind of tips were you getting? That's how you can tell if you were doing a good job or not. My nephew works for TGIF and gets fantastic tips.

Every store has a chain of command. It starts out with your sup. then mang. then owner. if you start out with sup, and nothing gets done go on to the next mang. and do the same thing and so on. Some thing will change in the work place and you will be surprise in the attitudes in people!!!
