I ask this question here because I want Seniors answers. Or don't Seniors do any standing ovations?

I went to see The Rolling Stones last time they were in Australia. It was held in a huge football stadium, and we paid top prices to sit on the field. We got plastic garden chairs to sit on. Only trouble was, as soon as the Stones appeared, everyone in the front row stood up. Then the next row, and the next - just so we could see ! We all spent the entire concert standing on these wonky plastic chairs We could barely walk afterwards ! So you could say, we gave those guys a 2-hour standing ovation ! A great night was had by all !

Been in? As in after I've watched a performance? Wayne Newton & some other performers get standing ovations when they appear at our local casino.
The Comunity theater version of "Annie!" that my grandkids and future son in law were in last August. How wonderful that was! All 4 performances of it.
Been in? As when I'm onstage and they're clapping? Years ago, the high school choir did a performance in a state competition. At the last minute, our director said we were going to sing A Cappella. It was Battle Hymn of the Republic. I can remember when we finished singing, there was total silence in our audience for about 30 seconds. We could hear the song reviberating back to us on stage. And then everyone stood and cheered. It was sheer exhilaration.
We got perfect scores in all areas that were being graded, and we took the trophy back to our school.

Presidents George Walker Bush, Ronald Wilson Reagan and John Fitzgerald Kennedy among other notables. I myself was the recipient of a standing ovation on several occasions when I was a folk singer appearing at different coffee houses on the west coast, the midwest and in Japan.

Yes, for my Dad - at two of his award ceremonies while in the military and at his retirement party.
Natch at concerts - such as Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horne [in Paris at the Olympia Theatre when she was married to Lenny Hayden] and the Dells!
Also one that touched me so much and made me so proud! My youngest daughter competed in the Miss America Pageant in our state and she won 2nd place but her ovation was for her talent offering where she mimed. 'signed' and danced the part of a clown attending the funeral of her best friend, another clown

I may come back and see what is happening in the dear old room - however - about your question...........
Tina Turner - Wembley Arena was about the most deserved one that I have participated in.
Have had a few myself - but that was when I was a lot younger!!

Hell, if you have lived this long and not seen stuff that deserves standing ovations, you have led a somewhat sheltered, boring life! There are many performances that deserve standing ovations, and there are many people who deserve them...even me on occasion...it is flattering, but embarrassing. Phil

Just yesterday for my eight year old grand daughter who was one of the locals that performed in the "Russian Nutcracker Ballet" at the Orpheum Theater. She did a wonderful job dancing as the French girl. It was a very proud moment for this grandpa.

I was in one Sunday at church when a young lady gave her life to the Lord. That's generally where I am when I'm in a standing ovation.
