I've always been pretty good at making friends, but recently it seems like once someone really gets to know me they stop liking me and think i'm annoying. Its really starting to crush my self-esteem.
What can a male freshman in highschool do to avoid being annoying?

Dude, I was in your exact situation when I was a freshman. If I could do it again, I'd tell myself to worry less and maybe pay a little more attention to what people care to hear coming out of my mouth. Whatever you do, dont be fake and more importantly....focus on school and do good on your ACT's!

Sometimes you have to take care of business and when people see you're mostly busy maybe they don't find you annoying. It's the people with a lot of time on their hands who goof off in their own particular way that can be quite annoying.

I'm sure deep down you know why... perhaps you are a 'know ti all' or you 'talk too much' or 'are too in-your-face"?
I don't think you should have to change who you are to have friends but perhaps their are parts of your personality that you need to control or tone down a bit.
Don't be over-needy and suffocate your friends.Allow them their space and take time out... try to sense when people want to be left alone or when you need to just be there.
I think perhaps you are trying too hard.

You may be trying too hard to fit in with them. Just be yourself and don't worry about what others think. I will give you a good link which may help but it will get better in time so just continue to be yourself and don't worry about fitting in. concentrate on your grades and when you are doing better in school than them you may have people coming to you for help. Good Luck!!

freshmen here too! and the only thing that really annoys me about the people at school, is when they try to hard. try to hard too get attention. try to hard too be cool. try to hard too be the bad@ss. try too hard to be someone they're not. just simply trying too hard annoys me.
oh yeah. and the people who are just full of themselves.
and if they think your annoying. who cares what they think. because if they were real friends they'd hang with you. and those are the ones worth being with.
happy genocide day.

Maybe become more relaxed. Don't try to be over active in conversations and things like that.
Also, be nice to everyone. Don't be rude to anyone without good reason!

Look at yourself from a critical point of view. Try to look at yourself and see if you are annoying. If you do see that from another person's view you are indeed, try to change and make yourself more likeable.
