I am in art school, so I have to face the "what do I do with an art degree" thing daily. There are a lot of jobs where art skills come into play. Like everyone else said. graphic design is huge, but you have to know things about the Adobe programs.
If you are looking for long term, you could get a teaching certificate and teach art to kids. But if you are good enough, you can send portfolios to people who are looking for storyboarding, comic design, illustration for children's books, magazine illustration, etc. It is usually a freelance type of work at least at first though.
I have had friends draw local businesses and local areas and sell them to the businesses they draw and things like that. And I bet that if you drew some local areas, you could sell some pieces on the street if you have an area in your town where people walk around. Drawing is always a useful skill. There are many more ways I can think of to apply it. It just takes work.

Magazines, local community newspapers and independantly owned pet newsletters are always looking for spot illustrations that they can use as filler.
Go down to the library and look in their reference section for a book called Artist Market 2007 (the new 2008 is in the bookstores now, but check out an older copy first) and page through seeing what various places want, what they pay, etc. It's a good book to start from for sources.

You have a raw talent is what it sounds like. Why don't you go to art school and educate it? Cheap art is a dime a dozen but I haven't been in that market since the late nineteen-sixties, and early seventies before I went to O.C.A. so I couldn't advise on where to go for that form of employment. But still...I would advise you to look into educating your work, even if it is part time and takes you eight years. Look into it.

Employers look for educational credentials and or degrees, it is almost a prerequisite for any decent job, especially with art. However you can always produce art, make flyers, try to show at galleries, etc (if you are not interested in the pay).
A great way to get your name out is to get involved with your community, or local arts guild around your neighborhood.
Fundamentaly and realistically, it takes time, patience, and perserverance!
