'06 FXD35, mfg. 12/05. TC88, stock lighting, no accessories.
I don't have all my numbers handy.
The service manual has a note: regulator amperage 32-38 @ 3600rpm.
The question: how much of this is available for me to use?
Or, is 15 amps too much?
The accessory terminal under the seat is fused at 15 amps.

NO--ITS NOT USE IT, HD,S PUT OUT 35AMPS-YOU CAN GET A STATOR THAT WILL GIVE YOU 40, BUT WHY? ALL FUSES ARE 15 AMP, EXCEPT THE MAIN-AND YOU WILL NEVER BLOW IT--IT MAY RUST, BUT YOU WONT BLOW IT
WHEN RUNNING THE TOTAL AMP OUTPUT IS GOING TO THE LIGHTS--ALL OF IT--COIL AMP DRAW IS ALMOST NOTHING, THE REST OF THE 'OVERFLOW' GOES TO CHARGING THE BATTERY--AND THATS NEW--USE THE 15 AMP CIRCUT// BREAK IT IN 2 AND (SPLIT) RUN 2 ACCECORIES--35 AMPS IS AN *** OF JUICE. YOU CANT USE IT ALL--NO WAY.
ALSO FXD,s--BEST HD MODEL MADE--FXDX WAS THE BEST

Not sure about your Harley, but most bikes have only about 30% or less, of max power left over for accessories. If that's 32-38 amps, then you have about 400 total watts of power at 3600 rpm.

That leaves you about 100-120 watts for auxiliary power at 3600rpm. You will have much less at idle. So, if you do a lot of stop and go riding, you don't have much extra to play with and you could drain your battery very quickly.

If you do a lot of riding at or about 3600rpm, then you have a higher margin of safety in using more of the surplus wattage.

Dude! With an '06 you should not be seeing 3,600 rpm except on the hiway. I run 3,500 in fifth at 70 MPH on the nose. Get back to me, your **** ain't right. You seen my extra "hiway" lamps on the Dyna. No amp or battery trouble there at all. Look forward to hearing from you.
