Well I am on my way there - I am writing a book right now (it will probably never be published, I just like writing) , going back to school to be a counselor (I will be done within the year) , I work from home with my own business - I am in no way musical, but I am an "artist" and my husband and I split the "job" of home schooling our son.
You can do all of those things - depending on how you prioritize your life I think. Many of those things you can bring your kids with you - such as the musician aspect, writing while taking the kids to the park - etc.
You just have to be very motivated to do it. Granted it's easier with a partner.. hahaha

If she's a counselor and a parent then the kids are off to school or at home with someone else. being a musician and a writer would make for very good hobbies to get away from all the regular stuff of the day to day activities. Of course, she must be self motivated.
