The U.S. didn't abuse their power by entering Iraq so any source given will not be creditable

They didn't abuse there powers, they were doing what they thought was preventing a future nuclear attack. Even the Clintons and John Kerry stated (I'll pull up a list of a bunch of real lefties that did) that WMD in Iraq was a threat and we had to act because the UN wouldn't. But even with all these other people saying it, it was Bush who "lied" when the whole world thought Saddam had them.

Read the Congressional 9/11 and Prewar Intelligence reports. They conclude:

1. There were no terrorists in Iraq before Bush invaded;
2. Hussein did not allow terrorist training camps;
3. Hussein hated al Qaeda before we did;
4. Hussein did not hide al-Zarqawi, he tried to have him arrested; and of course
5. No WMDs or involvement with 9/11.

And recent (last summer) reports by the US Department of State and a consensus of America’s 16 Intelligence Agencies both conclude that the US presence in Iraq is only making the situation there worse and that, as a result of the Bush Administration’s policy on terror Americans are less safe and less secure than they were before 9/11 because anti-American terrorist organizations have grown larger, stronger, and are more successful than ever.

And, the book written by the President’s own father, “A World Transformed” [1998]. In it, former President George H. W. Bush explains why invading Iraq and removing Hussein from power would:

1. result in America becoming stuck in a no-win Vietnam-like quagmire;
2. result in America losing its friends and allies;
3. result in America losing its standing in the world and its ability to lead and influence international political events;
4. result in jeopardizing America’s own interests in the Middle East, undoing decades of intense effort to put ourselves in a position to be politically effective in the region;
5. result in increased hardship for both those who live in the Middle East and America’s own citizens; and
6. further destabilize the already volatile region with the possibility of causing regional (or greater) armed conflict.
