If there is no job then do what I did and get off you butt and move 200 miles to where there is a job.

PS. are you taking some sort of political classes? you sound like a member of the young communist party. My Grandfather was a member of ASLEF and active political worker and my father was AEU and again active. I became a Banker!! Better to fight from within and see the other side.
