I'm going to Seattle soon to visit my friend in the Navy and I was wanting to know if anyone knows of anything fun to do in and around Seattle/Bangor/Silverdale?

Bangor and Silverdale are on the other side of Puget Sound. Some things you can do over there include visiting a local casino, going to Poulsbo (if you are there for their Christmas tree lighting and St. Lucia celebration try to make it - it's fun in a clean, family oriented kind of way).

Port Townsend is a neat town to wander through.

Seattle is a drive and then a ferry ride away from those places, but if you can get to the ferry terminal in Bremerton you can walk on and wander downtown Seattle on your own. Pike Place Market is neat to see. The EMP (Experience Music Project) is a great stop for music lovers. The underground tour is an intersting look at Seattle's history.

Can't speak about the nightlife in either place unfortunately. Hope you get other posts that can comment on that for you if so interested.

Well, from Bremerton (Bangor), you will need to take a ferry to downtown Seattle. But that ferry drops you off within walking distance of a lot, and a short cab ride from a lot more.

You should see the waterfront. You will literally be in the middle of the waterfront after getting off the Bremerton ferry. There is a really good aquarium, the Ye Old Curiosity Shop (really cool), Pike's Place Market (2nd most popular landmark in Seattle), and lots of sights and views of Elliot Bay.

Then, just to the north, is the Seattle Center. This is where the Space Needle is located, as well as the Experience Music Project and the Pacific Science Center.

As for the Bremerton/Silverdale area, there are some cool places to see the Puget Sound in a natural setting, and some old forts from WW2 era, but I think those are more north of Silverdale.

There's all kinds of things to do in Seattle! What sorts of things are you thinking of? The nightlife is pretty cool (21+) and there's a lot of different clubs in Belltown that vary in music and crowds so you can usually find one you feel comfortable hanging out at. There's the Space Needle and Seattle Center to visit, although not a whole lot is going on at the Seattle Center at this time of year. They should be opening up the ice skating rink at the flag pavillion building there on Friday (day after Thanksgiving). I'd say the EMP (Experience Music Project) is def not worth it and I'm a huge music fan. It was not nearly as impressive as I'd built it up to be in my mind, but I was really excited about a "music museum" and was there watching them build it, but it didn't live up to my personal expectations. There's also Pike Place Market to go visit, which is a staple for the visitor to Seattle. Watch the fish fly, the food fry, and enjoy a nice day of shopping down there. Probably want to bundle up as it's pretty cold!

I can't really say too much about the Silverdale area as I'm not too familiar with it or it's nightlife or daylife.
