Yea, so the problem started after re-installing windows vista home premium (32 bit) on my dell inspiron 1420, because i was a fool and messed with a buncha settings, so it was easier to reinstall, so i reinstalled everything, including drivers, but i tried to burn a CD my CDR drive didn't appear instead it appeared as a DVD drive (it's both) but it won't recognize it as a CDR, what do i do?

- Open my computer
- Right-Click on your Burner drive (eg D: Drive)
- Select Properties
- Click on the Recording Tab
- Modify properties here to suit

Read the laptop User Manual and learn how to use your Recovery disks to reset your laptop to the original factory state.

Next, do exactly what it tells you to do. Then, it will work properly.
