Pets are expensive!! We are trying to save some money on heartworm and tick prevention by going through pet meds. Some people are hesitant on ordering from them saying that you don't know what your getting. Pet Meds say however that they are a licensed pharmacy. So...do you order from pet meds?

I've ordered from them a couple of times and have always been happy with the product I received.

It's http://www.800petmeds.com. I've never heard of www.pedmeds.com but typed it into my browser and a company did come up. I would definitely avoid an obscure company like that. The product they sell is probably from overseas. They're obviously selling through that link because the name is close to the legitimate company and people might think they're on that site.

The Advantage and Frontline and other products http://www.800petmeds.com sells are the exact same that you'd get at your vet - just a LOT cheaper because they're able to buy them cheaper due to volume of sales they have. I've been using them for flea meds for both my dogs and cats for a year now with no problems.

Yes, I've heard that before as well. However, the more research I did, the more I heard (from vets themselves) that other vets that bad-mouth them just want you to buy it from their clinic. Certainly some sites ARE shady and you don't know what you are getting. However, supposedly PetMeds is okay (confirmed by three diffr. vet clinics in my area).

It does claim to have only FDA/EPA approved meds and it is a member of the Better Business Bureau, so those are good signs as well. I have ordered from them twice now, and I have been more than satisfied.

I'd trust petmeds, although sometimes I've found they are more expensive for some things than the Vet's office. Do some research and remember you will still need to keep your pet's current @ your Vet's office because most of the stuff you get from petmeds is by prescription only and will have to be approved by your Vet.

Do you mean 1800petmeds.com? I've ordered flea stuff from them before and yes I trust them. If you're ordering stuff for cats and dogs, check on http://www.dog.com first. The last time I ordered flea stuff, I bought from dog.com and their prices were a lot lower than 1800petmeds.com. I think they might also have stuff for heartworm, but I'm not sure, you'll have to check on that one.

EDIT: For flea stuff, dog.com has Frontline, Advantage, and K9 Advantix. They don't have stuff for heartworms.
