I always put up a real tree and I put it up Thanksgiving night with no problems. Buy a fresh one from a reputable place. Keep it good and watered. Find some sort of recipe of sugar water or something to "feed" it to make it last longer. Also some shallow drilled holes in the base of it will help it suck up more water making it last longer. Be sure to check water several times daily in the first week or so. I've heard throwing an aspirin or 2 in the water will help it last longer too. And most importantly bring the tree straight home, cut off an inch or 2 from the base and put it directly into water...right away, don't wait. You should still have a beautiful tree Christmas morning and beyond. Best of luck to you and Merry Christmas!

You need to wait because the tree could become too dry and cause a fire.
Go ahead and put up all the other Christmas decorations and save the tree for last. You'll really be glad you did - and I hope you have the Merriest Christmas ever!!!

Not at all! the earlier you put it up, the more you'll get in the Christmas spirit, I'm putting my tree up in a few days, right noe I just get the place ready for it, clean the house, ect. I had no problems with live trees, as long as you keep it watered.

IF you cut it yourself and it is not pre cut. You water it everyday and buy a spray that will keep the moisture in it, you should be able to do it no problem. I put mine up the day after Thanksgiving and take it down New Years day.
Also remember not to put it near the fire place or a heat (vent or radiator. That will help to dry it out.

A real tree shouldn't be up more than a week total. They dry out and become a fire hazard.

I want a pretend one even regardless of the indisputable fact that a actual one has a incredible scent I incredibly no longer take care of having to water it and cleansing up the needles.Plus I set up my christmas village under my tree so the needles might fall throughout it.

Don't go more than two weeks prior. Even at that - you really gotta watch it, that it doesn't dry out. Safety first!
