It depends on how personall. However, visiting a whore house and mixing with prostitutes is breaking the law so that is beyond personal. Politiicans are lawmakers and if a politician breaks the law then that is news. No one cares how many times a politiican goes to bed with his /her spouse. However, many people care that the person may be using tax money to buy prosititues an d booze.

I'm a big fan of privacy and personal rights, but when it comes to the fat-cats that want to tell me how to live, and do it at taxpayers expense...DAMN RIGHT I wanna know what they're up to!
Especially people like Al Gore.He might not be an elected official these days, but his influence is still huge.He puts himself out there as a champion for global warming causes, but he and his household consume more energy resources in a week than most families do in a year.
Or idiots like Senator Larry Craig , who claim to be in favor of conservative values. He would vote to ban gay marriage, but somehow he was found in an airport bathroom trying to engage in activities that are not in keeping with his suppossed lifestyle.
Let's put politics aside here...these folks are making their living off of YOU,the American taxpayer. They want to tell us all how we should live, but few,if any of them are living up to their promises!
If ANYONE gets elected to public office because of their promises to the voters and/or taxpayers then they had DAMN WELL BETTER live their lives as they would have us live ours!
