Is there a time frame for "may become pregnant" (such as enough time for the medication to be completely out of your system), or does it mean if you EVER may become pregnant. Or does this vary based on the individual medications

Just to clarify, I am not pregnant or hoping to become pregnant in the near future, nor am I on or planning to take any of these medications. I just see these commercials constantly and think they are woefully unclear! :-)

It does not mean forever. Only until the medications is out of your system, which varies. Ask the pharmacist how long if you are concerned.

They don't want you to take the medication if you want to become pregnant soon , and they dont want any of the medicine to be in your system if you get pregnant. Like say you are taking it , you have a man and are sexually active , well what if you get pregnant, and by the to E you find out you may have been taking that med for about 2 weeks or even 2 months .. They just want to warn you because in reality who needs a lawsuit from that type of situation .. Rather be safe than sorry ..

If you are planning to become pregnant in the next 60 days or so, avoid those medications. It does not mean "for the rest of your life". Just the near future.

I think in general they mean if you could become pregnant now (that is, you are currently sexually active). But there are some medications that stay in the body for a long time. You should ask the doctor who prescribes the medication for you.

They're referring to if you are currently trying for a baby.
Most often its just meaning while you're on that medication. However, there are some meds that really do effect your body in ways that you may not be able to have kids...
If you're on a med that you're worried about, definitely ask your doctor. There were some pills my dad was taking that I couldn't even touch during my pregnancy because even contact with them could possibly harm my son.

It means these medications can alter your pregnancy, may cause birth defects etc. Normally just during the time you are taking the medications, you should not take these med's if pregnant.
Most med's are completely out of system within 30 days.

Usually, when it says "or may become pregnant" it means that you should consult with your doctor about when and how long it will take for you to have the drug completely out of the system; this may take up to a week or more depending on the drug.

It means until the drug is out of your system. It could mean hours, days, weeks or even longer in the case of a few drugs. Ask a Pharmacist if you aren't sure. The "half-life" is in the package insert, but it's not easy to find if you don't know what to look for.

I think it's supposed to be like if you have lots of unprotected sex and could become pregnant at any time. Most drugs are out of your system within two weeks.
