I've got thing for my old history teacher. I'm 18 years old and a senior. Just wondering what peoples opinions are on this... would i get in serious trouble if i asked him out when i graduated? He's only like 25...not 30. Just to through it out there. ;)

You wouldn't get in as much trouble as your teacher would if you began dating. He would be breaking a big policy, and could lose his job. Wait until you graduate. I know a couple who fell in love in a similar situation, and they are now married and have a little boy, and another one on the way.

My husband is 8 years older than I am, so I don't have a problem with the age difference, but I would wait until you are out of school (to protect his career).

I think it will be okay if you flirt him with him now. But don't let it go overboard. And since you lasted this long in High School, I'm sure you already know what's wrong and what's right.
As long he's not your teacher anymore, you most likely won't get in serious trouble if you ask him out when you graduate.
Since he's only 25, I'm guessing there might be more than just 1 rival, so, good luck!

I have had this happen to me. One of my students asked me out 2 weeks after she graduated. She was 18 and I was 26 at the time. Of course I said no, mainly because there was a time that I was her teacher I can see myself dating a former student of mine.

First things first, graduate from your course. After graduation you will be a professional too and already an adult, so he may become interested and will ask you out. It is still "romantic" to allow a man to do the first move. If he is too shy, then be subtle about making the first move. Sometimes a woman being too "fresh" is a "turn-off' for other men.

i don't think this is very wise, while you wouldn't get in trouble you might not know if he's in a relationship or something, there are plenty of factors that could cause him to turn you down for example the fact that you are a former student of his. if you're not worried about getting turned down then i'd say wait till after graduation and go for it

I don't think you would get in trouble if you are over 18. I also think you should wait after graduation because he might get fired or called on it. I really don't think it a big problem but get ready for speculation and whispers.

It would be an ethics issue on his part and could cost him his position as a teacher at that high school. I would blow it off as a crush and find someone else. Many students get crushes on their teachers, I am just glad that I am bald, ugly and fat. It saves me the hassle :)

I don't think you would get in trouble, but he would if he said yes. Teachers cannot go out with students.

I think that he may have his job taken away from him. There are a lot of teachers who have ruined the lives of students and their own families with school romances.
