- its a long plane flight away
- it may be emotional becuause I will meet old friends
- the break in my current typical north american routine scares me a wee bit
-i will miss my "usual stuff- bed, kitchen" etc.
is this normal? how do i cope with it? I almost feel that i should not start any thing new at this time becuase I am going on a trip.

I know how you feel about not wanting to start anything new. I went away for a month this summer. Before I left, I met this really nice girl in a store. I wanted to get to know her more, but didn't bother asking for a phone # cos I knew I was leaving in a week and would be gone for so long. makes me wonder what could have happened.
I planned for the trip for so long and a month before, I started getting nervous. I just started working out and running more to keep myself busy.
Turns out, I had a trip of a lifetime and cant wait to get away again.

Hey Weekend Gal,
Don't worry so much. Everyone has these feeling before they go on a trip. the hardest thing to do is take that first step. Once you are away you will find that everything mellows out and you will feel great. Its just pre trip anxiety. You are going to have a great time. Don't worry.
also, go ahead and start some things working while you are away. Many times I like to order things and get projects underway that take time to come to fruition. If you need to order some things that take time for delivery you can get it done and not have to worry about it. Have the house painted while you are gone, Get some landscaping done. All these things and many others can be accomplished while you are away and you come back to a better situation!!!
