I will be visiting Zante in June '08 but want to plan a little excursion for a few days.Which Islands close by do you recomend?Or should i go to Italy?Any direct flights?

Go visit Patra on the mainland - very close and it's a great city! My fav city.
Get there via ferry can't remember how long it is but not far - from there Athens is only 2 hrs away by coach. Italy will be a long journey! Or hire a car drive over the new breathtaking bridge from Rio, Patra to Antirrio and turn right - head to Nafpakos - Itea - Amfissia - Delphi - Aracova - Livadia - down the national road to Athens (that takes approx 5hrs to do) and back up the 2nd National road to Patra visiting - Naplion - Xylokastro - Korinthos and all the villages on route to Patra and back over to Zakynthos by ferry. You can easily do all this is 3 days! We've done it one, but from Preveza!
On using ferries - Zakynthos - Kefonlonia - Lefkada and back
I perfer the first route - very scenic!

Go to Kefalonia!!! It has an airport. You can also go by boat.
