I was wondering if someone (just a regular person) can get paid to help catch internet predators online. Does anyone know anything about this or have any idea who to talk to about this? Would I call my local police? Honestly, I would love to make extra money and I could help fight crime at the same time if I could do this!

I definitely think that if you are good at it you should try it. All people think differently and you may just be the person that may be able to catch these people.
You might want to speak to your local law enforcement, because there usually is a reward for catching predators.
Unfortunately, this may not help you very much, as you will have to speak to a federal government agency, as on-line based crimes are a government jurisdiction.
Its worth a phone call to see what the FBI might do for a tip.

If you want to catch bad guys, go to the police academy. Civilians aren't going to be doing that.

Your idea of contacting the police or FBI is a good one. Perhaps they can point you in the right direction.
