that you don't know what you would tolerate unless you were in a given situation?? Has anyone (relationship wise) ever tested your limits and you tolerated it? What was the outcome?

Yes I do believe that you don't know what you would tolerate unless you were in a given situation. There have been things that some one told me what they were going threw and I said I wouldn't put up with it. Well I put up with a lot more than most people would.

I have been in relationships that tested my limits. I tolerated it to a point. I begged then not to do what they were doing, cheating. They said they stop, that they didn't want to loose me. Well I think giving a person a few chances to change (5 or more times) is plenty.

I will NOT tolerate another cheater again. I will not tolerate being hit either.

What was the outcome? I am single now and I more than likely will stay that way as so many people think it is ok to cheat.

It's funny some of the answers given on here, it's so obvious by the answers they give that most have never been in that situation before. Judging by their answers they are still in school or fresh out of their parents home.
Unless you are put to the test you really have no idea what you can and can't tolerate. I have always said to myself and my husband,if you ever cheat on me I'm out the door well he did and i didn't do what i had always thought i would do. That was very hard for me to come to terms with. It's like i went against everything i have always believed in. I was put in a situation and did the complete opposite.

I agree with your statement. Yes, I had those limits severly tested and I tolerated it. The outcome? Counseling and a divorce to save my life.

I also learned that I was much stronger than I thought AND that I deserved better.

yes... i believe that a person doesn't know how much they can tolerate until they are actually faced with something hard... my fiance and i have been through so much together, from my dad dying, to his grandfather dying (we were very close with these people), to his parents screwing us over out of thousands of dollars they borrowed, to moving, to fights, to fights with our families, to disapproving family members, to all kinds of other stuff... while our problems haven't always been with each other, we have faced a lot of tough problems within our families that we have overcome... lots of financial and emotional turbulence... i think that i can make it through anything now.... :)

No....my relationships have been without hugh surprises....so my limits have never been tested.

I think if it tested my limits I'd have to rethink the relationship.
