What can happen to a vetoed bill so that it becomes a law?

The veto is used when a President disagrees with a law that Congress passes.

Congress can override a veto, but they must have a 2/3 majority in order to do so. If they do not obtain the necessary votes, then the bill does not become law.

The bill goes back to the houses ad they can try to get enough votes to prevent a veto.
