As a Liberal living in a Tiny Farm town I'm very concerned about our environment.

BUT at the same time I can't remember any Corporation ever doing anything for the Global Good.

Do they expect us to pay more for gas if it is Green? Or for plastic cars that weigh less?

Yes, of course. It's a giant scam. It is what is stopping us from making our own oil from the vast coal reserves in this country. Oil from Coal only costs $45 a barrel.

If you do indeed live in a "Tiny Farm Town" then I can't believe you are asking this question because you should be able to walk out your door every morning and see more proof than anyone should ever need to see the truth in this issue. I live in a small farm town and I see things changing by the day ... as compared to 20 years ago ... well, the only way to say it is Mother Nature has lost it. The changes can't really be seen in "normal" weather but the thing that really shows the problems to come are the wild swings in the weather ... 100 + one day and then 45 and raining the next ... it's these wild swings that we will have more and more of until ... well, who knows what the end results will be but we do know two things ... they ain't going to be pretty and we ain't gonna like it. In the movie Day After Tomorrow one of the major things they point to for the change is the north Atlantic current shutting down ... well guess what boys and girls it's doing it for real right now ... not shutting down per say but wild changes in temp and current speed. The UN report just out this weekend paints a pretty bleak picture for the future ... are they pushing the dates a little ... probably but if they are they are only doing it to try and scare people into doing the right thing because this is real and it will destroy us if we don't do something about it. Keep a weather journal for about 6 months to a year and you will have all the proof you need to know that they are telling the truth.

BTW ... if gas is made from oil it can never be "green" ... have you been to look at new cars lately ... seems like they are 75% plastic already ...

Politicians will always use issues to be or stay elected. It almost has nothing to do with the truth or urgency of the topic being discussed. Likewise, business will also play to the population’s interests and fears to make a buck.

However, Al Gore being a hypocrite (see source) should not deter us from debating and researching the issue of Global Warming. If you want green products, go to a farmers market.

In business and politics: buyer beware.

No - actually some of us passed 5th grade science and know better.

"Green" products can be a marketing gimmick if you don't pay close attention.

But that has nothing to do with the REALITY of Global Warming.

I have seen first-hand how recycling plants use less fossil energy than other production plants... so it is not something that I just read in a "liberal" book somewhere.

But some things - (like corn ethanol) are not any better for the planet because it actually takes more fossil fuels to create and makes harmful biproducts in the production process.

It is also not good for the air to buy Organic if you are shipping it across the country in gas-powered semi-trucks...

Preach it brother!
Global Warming is bad science out of control.
Scientists need grants to continue their research, and a way to make it easier for them to get their money is to skew "evidence" to be more and more catastrophic so they get noticed, and in turn get their money. Its a total bad science scam.

Global warming is a cyclical weather trend. In a few thousand years there will be another idiot like Gore trying to scare all of the idiot citizenry about global cooling.

My Cadillac and GMC say Gore is a boob.
