Distance (D) = Rate (R) x Time(T)

D = RT

For example, if you were traveling at 60 mph for 4 hours, you would go 240 miles:

Rate is measured in MPH (miles per hour) for example.
Therefore Distance divided by Time equals Rate.
e.g. 100 miles in 2 hours is 50 mph.
Similarly Rate multiplied by Time equals Distance.
e.g. 75 mph for 3 hours will take you 225 miles.
Also Distance divided by Rate gives Time.
e.g. 100 miles at 25 mph takes 4 hours.
