I was just discharged from Boyonet Point hospital, by my attendending Dr. Ramos,Ivan. I was given no explanation and I was told that he had phoned in the discharge just after I had been transferred from rm.#3771 to rm.#2109, It was almost 5:00pm. I had been taken for many tests at about 8:30am and was told the doctor would read the xrays and untra sound tests that I had fasted for the prior night and be given the results later on that night, (evening time). I was discharged with no meds. or instructions. I do know that I was being given antibotics and steriods and some those types of meds should not just be discoutined with out tapering off or taking the full dosage. On the the discharge paper it does say for me to call the doctors office the following day to make an appointment. I am unemployed right now and don't have the money for the appt. and he knew that. There was a pick line in my right shoulder that was taken out very quickly and seems to be bleeding still? Please Help Ms.

If you paid for the tests, you have a right to see the results. If not, you have no right to see the tests.

If you were treated with antibiotics and steroids, and the doctor found no reason to keep you in the hospital, he was right to discharge you. You must have received some type of instructions if you were told to call the doctors office the following day to make an appointment.

Many medications are available in a 1 shot form, so that you only need one shot of antibiotics to clear up infections, and 1 shot of steroids to lessen swelling.

You say you are unemployed and can not afford a doctor's appointment. How can you afford the hospital? Don't be upset with the doctor for knowing you are unemployed and asking you to make an appointment for further treatment if necessary. It's a lot less expensive to pay off a doctor's visit than making payment arrangements for a hospital stay. It sounds like you have a caring doctor.
