2006 Alcohol- and drug-related car accident
On July 20, 2006, Osment was injured in a one-car accident.[3][4][5] His blood-alcohol content was measured at 0.16 percent, twice the legal limit in California.[6] On August 18, he was charged with four misdemeanors including driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of marijuana while driving. He grew old and started getting in trouble.... so maybe that's why he stopped making movies as well.
