Personally, I think telling people (including boss, co-workers, etc) as soon as you find out you're pregnant is good. It's good news that I think people should congratulate you for. However, I've read that telling people after you've completed your first trimester would be the best because of the risks of miscarriage during the first trimester, whereas during the 2nd trimester the risks of that occuring decreases considerably. But you should tell people when you are most comfortable. I found out I was pregnant when the baby was 4 weeks and 4 days old, and I told everyone as soon as I found out!
Congrats!!!

We told our parents at 5 1/2 or 6 wks. One of those. Then I waited til my first ultrasound (8 wks) to make sure there was a heartbeat & that everything was ok. We started telling people THAT day after the appt. A lot of women I know wait until 3 months which a lot of times before that miscarriages tend to happen. But that's what I did.

It is best to wait until you are 13 weeks just because that way you are all in the clear and have passed the most crutial stage of the pregnancy, it just saves the hurt if anything happens so that you dont have to go around telling everyone you miscarried if that was to happen which i doubt very much but just incase. I told everyone when i found out i was pregnant but i was only early on, then 3 days after i found out i miscarried so i had to go tell everyone when i would have much rathered kept it to myself.

But if you want, tell them when you are ready, i told everyone again when i found out i was pregnant this time but i just waited a couple of weeks after i found out, i was too excited and couldnt keep it to myself, thankfully everything is going well this time!!

But tell your employer straight away just incase anything was to happen, it's best they know incase you need time off!
Congrats on bub and be sure to take it easy during the first trimester!!

With my first, I told everyone at 8 weeks after I had my first doctor's appointment and ultrasound. With this one, I had a false positive the month before so I decided to wait until 12 weeks. I'm glad I waited.

When you're comfortable! If you're not high risk, then whenever you want! Sometimes women who are high risk (previous miscarriages) wait until there a couple months along so they dont have to risk explaining to everyone if, God forbid, they lost the baby. But even with high risk pregnancies some women still tell people early on. It's all about what you and your hubby want.

Lots of people say to wait. I told everyone I could possibly tell as soon as I had my first doc appointment and knew that everything was going fine. It's a personal choice, really. If you want to wear a shirt that says "I'M PREGNANT" starting tomorrow so that everyone knows, then go for it! Congratulations!!

The general rule of thumb is to wait until you've finished your first tri-mester in order to avoid the fact that many pregnancies fail in those first three months.

However, whenever you are comfortable, there is no ettiquette you need to be worried about. It's your baby, your belly, your choice.

because women in my family had a high miscarriage rate (I thankfully never have) I waited with each of mine to pass the 3 months stage.
after that the likely hood of losing the baby is much less although things do happen.
Wish you the best of luck and congratulations!
