1 million seconds = A little more than 11 days
1 billion seconds = Nearly 32 *years*

Here's how you get these answers:

24 hours x 60 minutes x 60 seconds = 86,400 seconds in a day.
1,000,000 / 86,400 ≈ 11.6 days

1,000,000,000 / 86,400 = 11,574 days
Divide this by 365.2421 days (round it to 365 if you like) in a year and you get:
1 billion seconds ≈ 31.7 years
