At the Christmas CELEBRATION , I was overwhelmed with despondency when I overheard several of the guests WHISPER among themselves about the DECORATION that was so disgracefully placed on the FIREPLACE mantle.

Along with the tinsel and other misshapen ornaments that year after year are packed away until another glorious season , the old Santa was now beginning to show signs of wear and tear throughout the years. His white beard was yellowed . his red suit tinged with grey and his red hat tattered in CHAOS.
I started just to WALK around , mingle and have some
MERRY conversation with a few of the guests. I needed to know, just for my own SATISFACTION what they thought of my decorating and thought I might have some fun and
MISCHIEF.

I primarily targeted those who, I over heard mumbling about how my decor was so distastefully displayed.
Their SERENITY annoyed me. And their pious and insincere compliments about "oh how lovely every thing looks dear" irritated me to almost anger to think how hypocritical my guests actually were.

I'll still be using that same Santa next year, but perhaps I will invite different guests.

A celebration was planned.We had to whisper all day.We had put the last decoration on the fireplace,when the chaos began! Even though my Grandpa would rather walk,we finally saw the man run,run,and run fast..when the merry stout man fell down the chimney.The merry stout man had a look of satisfaction on his face,or was that mischief? 'You forgot to invite me!",exclaimed this man,as we all were enveloped in a surreal serenity.For you see,the celebration was for our family to honor our Grandpa,formerly deceased!!
