Heroes is the worst-written show on TV. They make it up as they go along. People have super powers and just decide not to use them when it's inconvenient to the plot for them to have them.
I gave up on it at the end of last year, and I know more and more people who are wising up.
Even Todd Kring has apologized for how terrible this season has been.

It's like comparing apples and oranges. Heroes is a serialized drama with a cast of around 20 that is set in a world similar to ours but different, complete with mutants and other paranormal things. House is a procedural medical drama with a small cast that focuses on a different patient and disease every week and follows a certain formula every time, with a few variations. Both have excellent casts, both have great writers and plenty of interesting twists. I prefer Heroes because I like the cast better, and I prefer serialized dramas to procedurals because they offer more opportunities for character development and sustained storytelling. I also think Heroes has a higher caliber of cast and guest star, although Hugh Laurie is brilliant in House.
If I had to choose one, I'd definitely choose Heroes. But why limit yourself? Why not watch both and enjoy each for what it is?
