I've heard of some people saying they found out by internal ultrasound that soon. But I don't see how that is possible since the baby is not supposed to show external sex organs until the 3rd month.

With my son I found out when I was 16 weeks and found out that this would be a girl at 20 weeks. I also had an internal ultrasound with her at 12 weeks and they said they could not yet see.

It's generally best done between weeks 18-26. Right now the sex is pretty indistinguishable. You might be able to tell in a few weeks. A nine week old fetus is only about the size of a grape.

well my doctor told me i was having a boy when i was 8 weeks , but also told me he could be wrong , it can be hard to tell the difference that young. and it was a boy. and i know that the sex organs are developed by 9 weeks but in a sono it can be hard to be positive when you are only 9 or so weeks.

oh sorry im wrong about that it was when i was 11 weeks pregnant that he said it was a boy . my third baby was 8 weeks during first sono , and know they couldnt tell to young.... sorry
