If the strategies were well know, they could not be unique!
Both Alexander and Caesar are considered to have been excellent tacticians, and their victories are still studied today.
Good strategies are necessary, but tactics need to compliment the strategies. You have to combine How, Where and When to give yourself the best chance of winning. The two people above were excellent at all the above, as was Hannibal, and Spartacus.
