They do make K-Y jelly that has spermicide in it but you have to use an applicator to put it up in you but the regular kind is not spermicide.

I was wondering the same thing myself and did a Google search. Everything I read said that personal lubricants are harmful to sperm. There have been several medical studies done determining that all name brand lubricants cause 100% of sperm to die within 60 minutes.
There have been groups lobbying to change the labeling of lubricants to inform those trying to conceive that lubricants can be harmful to sperm. My guess is that they don't want to be liable if someone does get pregnant and they advertise as a spermicide.
My advice...DO NOT use KY or any other over the counter lubricant. I have read good things about Preseed, but have not tried it myself. If you have to use a lubricant, that would be the only one I would try.

Most lubricants actually ARE harmful to sperm. The only one I know for sure that isn't is "Preseed".
"Three decades of peer reviewed, published research has shown that all existing vaginal lubricants studied to date harm sperm, resulting in rapid losses in their viability (% live) and motility (% swimming).
Specifically, there have been at least 11 studies on this topic conducted in Medical school settings, reviewing the effect of 16 different lubricants on sperm, including all of the top selling brands, such as
***KY***, Astroglide and Replens.
In each study, sperm motility and viability were dramatically reduced after exposure to even small concentrations (<10%) of these products."
AND...
"A lubricant is meant to replace arousal fluid, not cervical fluid. Lubricants should only be used while trying to conceive if you cannot have sex comfortably without one. No lubricants, even ones that claim to be sperm-friendly or sperm-neutral, are meant to be a replacement for cervical fluid and most are unfriendly to sperm.
Saliva is also unfriendly to sperm and should not be used as a lubricant while trying to conceive.
If you must use a lubricant to have intercourse, check with your doctor or pharmacist to find the one that is right for you that will be most friendly to sperm. "

KY Jelly is only a lubricant, it does not kill sperm. I never heard that this prevents pregnancy.
Your husbands sperm fighters are maybe not so strong, and they become weaker with it. This is something to get tested and look into by a professional.

It won't kill the sperm but it acts like a barrier to sperm so they can't swim freely through the cervix.
You can get a lubricant called preseed....Go have a look at the link.It really explains things....Good luck! x

No it doesnt kill sperm, in all those 12 yrs didnt you go to the doctor and ask him/her that and get yourselves checked out? You should go to the docs and have some tests done if you're having difficulty in conceiving cos they can really help and put your mind at ease, cos your problems were def not caused by KY

No, it was probably just because you were naturally moist and had a better session. I know that sounds stupid but doctors do always say... 'try to relax and not think about it when your trying to concieve'
Hell i was told to have a drink and have fun... it worked 3 times for my sister 4 times for my mum!
