Just about anything the person is able to do and get a reasonable salary for it. Of course, it does depend on the extent of the disability. However, I once worked with another nurse who was wheelchair bound. There were some things she obviously could not do; but all in all she was a first-rate nurse. The disabled should never settle for being "second class".

If a person is able to return to the same level of work and salary they had before they became disabled. Unfortunately most agencies who assist the disabled with employment assume ALL disabled people are mentally challenged and uneducated.

Therefore all they seem to offer is entry level menial employment assuming the only barriere to entering or re-entering the workforce is that the disabled have no skills, no work experience and no education.

I havent heard of a single one of these agencies doing anything to assist a professional person to re-enter the workforce. Only people with unions receive any assistance of this kind.
