How can the voters vote for anyone else. He was clearly the best player in the AL this year. Is it just writers hating on the Yankees?

he's still a P U S S Y!
I wished he would have signed somewhere else and jinx their post season. I thought MVPs have to perform when it matters, like during the Post Season.
Since he only plays 2/3 of the season, why is he worth $28 Million a year???

The 2 voters who gave Mags the #1 vote were from Detroit.

Tom Gage has been covering The Tigers for at least 30 years.

Does it really matter that he didnt get ALL the first place votes. Does it take away the fact that he won it. NO. Who cares, the guys that voted for mag were in Det. and they saw him play all the time that probley swayed their vote.

I don't think it's anti-Yankee bias, just hometown voting. Both of those are Detroit-based writers (from the Oakland Press and Detroit News). It's a case of them going with the guy they saw play most all season, and who obviously carried their local team:

well, frankly i wasn't paying attention to him cuz i'm pretty tired of a rod talk.. especially when it's playing everyday
but i do agree that he's a great player

writers just don't like a rod as a person i think..
cuz he's kinda. well.. i'll let u figure that out

You are correct it was HOME TOWN biased voting,,,, both the Non 1st place votes came from a couple of Detroit HOMERS who are passing themselfs off as Writers... so they voted for Magglio Ordonez....Yea i really dont think he even came close as far as numbers go..

Well, he lost by 2 votes made by two michigan writers, for Magglio Ordonez (Detroit). Rodriguez was clearly the best player, but those Michigan people- I tell you what. =]

hope that helped.
