It seems that in modern politics it comes with the job. In my lifetime the office holder has gone form the person our nation looked to for guidance and protection to the easy target for every gripe.A lot of the current things blamed on the president have been developing over decades and through several presidents. The country is a target and so is the leader. What so many do not understand is that as Americans you are also, so choose wisely when you vote.

"Sometimes war is an option."? Yes, almost always, but it's supposed to be the last option not the first. "Freedom isn't free."? What the heck is that supposed to mean? A bloody revolt in the U.S. to reassert the American citizen's claim to freedom would be one price we could pay. Is that what you're talking about?

Even his strongest supporters can't seem to find anything good to say about him. Usually the best they can come up with is, "Kerry would have been worse", but they can't even say how things could be worse. He's undermined the Bill of Rights, spent hundreds of billions on a war nobody wanted but him, and made a large number of foreign countries hate us even more than they did before. He acts like an uncouth bully and doesn't care how much he angers and alienates the people who elected him. The President's job should be to serve the people, but he's only concerned about himself and his rich friends. He he no qualms about walking all over the rest of the population and our civil rights to get what he wants.

This statement is not going to change any body's mind. Those who support the war support it those that don't will always look for someone to blame.
They will even revise history to try to justify their hatred, like Bush lied, and people died, regardless that everyone in congress was privy to the same information.
Logic and evidence be damned they will believe what they want to believe.
However, Bush has done, plenty of other things to raise the ire of a Nation, his treatment of the issues of immigration reform, His spending like a democrat, and his unfailing support of a failing war strategy, have not helped him win friends even among those who originally supported him.

the 2000 election
the fact that he's a Bush
the fact that he's a republican
his ties to big oil
he identifies himself as a fundamentalist Christian
he got his money the old-fashioned way - from Daddy
the way his adminisrtation shut down public debate on nearly any issue "if you're not with us you're against us"
the way his administration mishandled the war
the fact the mainstream media has played all this up in a quest for better ratings
the ballooning of the federal debt
the kowtowing to the religious right
the lack of kowtowing to the religious right
Dick Cheney
John Roberts

I don't hate the president any more than I hate the guy who constantly gets my order wrong at the coffee shop. I just think he does a crappy job and should be replaced.
Preemptive war is never an option. Our freedom was never threatened.
