Israeli companies are using UK property shows to sell housing in illegal Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank, Guardian Unlimited can reveal.

At the Israel Property Exhibition at Brent town hall, North London last Sunday, one company, Anglo-Saxon Real Estate, was offering for sale properties in Maale Adumim and Maccabim. Both West Bank settlements lie on the Palestinian side of the so-called green line, the pre-1967 boundary and often cited as the border between Israel and a future Palestinian state.
The apathetic amounst you are saying so what i would want to move there anyway, spain is better, BUT these settlements are ILLEGAL and the UN has warned israel many times not to expand these, but obviously it doesnt give a sh*t. Isnt it time for a UN force to go into Israel and stop these illegal settlements from expanding. Must we wait another 60 years ?

the Israelis have been jack booting over the Palestinians since 1948. why ??....simple.... because they can!....and if anybody criticises they go into their usual 'everyone feel sorry for me' holocaust routine. frankly they are no different to the Nazis they keep wittering on about. no wonder they were being hounded out of every country in Europe from the 1800s right through to the late 1930's. perhaps (at last) the world will start to wake up to these b@stards and see them for what they really are. elitist dictators.

Well it seems as thought the Palestinans have not been using the land or doing anything constructive economically at all since I have been alive, and I am guessing that is twice as long as the asker.

I'd say likely even so going back 70 years at least.

Anyway, currently someone other then Palestinians hold legal title to the land . anyone doing so, or buying said legal tltle does so with full awareness and risk of geopolical issues in the region.

I say so what - the market will correct for that risk, and whoever holds the title at the time and place of some sort of turnover will either suffer or benefit form the consequences at the time.

No big deal there, just common sense. Same as for land in the way of natural disasters as well. The market will take the risk into account, and then whatever happens will happen.

Of course if the Palestinians had been working to make friends even among their wealthy neighbors over the decades, they could just buy the land themselves - but not one country supports them economically above the table after all these years - why is that?

Many other countries have been sent into exile after losing their homeland due to war in the intervening decades, and in a generation or so, they generally land on their feet. But in this case we are going on 4 or 5 generations with no improvements in sight - no interest at all it seems in becoming participants in the global or even regional non-war economies. How weird is that?

"it was in the guardian !!!!"

And your point being?

In truth, the settlements are not illegal. At the very least, we can say that it is not as clearcut as you may pretend it to be.

See http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/myths/mf22a.html

But, I know. People like you and those who write for the Guardian as well are so up in arms when some people build a couple of extra apartments down a new extension of a road on an otherwise empty hilltop that doesn't displace a single Arab and gasp, actually try to sell it in England!

One would think their focus would be on more important things, like I don't know, terrorism, you know, things that are ACTUAL impediments to peace.
