i read a comment on here from a guy saying that white people who are being racist towards blacks are only standing up for themselves after years of it being ok for blacks to be racist.Maybe i'm slow in the head but this sounds really strange to me.Wasn't it deemed acceptable for 500 years for white people to racist towards black people. But it seems now that if a black person has a racist view towards a white person then its wrong and shouldnt be tolerated. And people are always asking why can blacks be racist but whites can't ,hasn't the entire history of white people in america until now been completely racist against blacks. So how is white people standing up against racist black people with racism any different than black people who stood up against racist white people

no.i am not saying that its okay for black people to be racist what i'm saying here is some people make it seem like blackpeople are being racist and its for no reason and its wrong.I don't agree with racism on either side it just bothers me that people get upset over a few racist blacks while forgetting that white people have been racist towards them since the beginning. If you were racist against someone for your entire life and then one day said i wont be racist anymore but your previous actions have made that person that you hated start to hate you.would you get mad at them for being the same way that you were for your entire life.

I still don't see it: These so-called "privileges" that black people have. Anyone can see that whites have been and still are on average more economically, politically, and institutionally advanced than blacks due to the racist history that this country has.

This whole idea of whites being racist to "stand up for themselves" is folly. It's like a heterosexual person "standing up" against a homosexual person. How is the big person going to stand up to the little guy?

There's a void in logic there.

No the entire history of all white people has not always been racist against black people. Racism is what it is and everyone has a moment of bad judgment. How do you think the underground railroad worked? White people helping black people.

Well you have to realize that its not the 1800's anymore. It wasnt the people now who did all of those horrible things. Racism is wrong from any corner. It isnt fair for white people to be treated badly by black people and them use the exuse of slavery back in the day. And the white people who still think they are better than blacks are stupid!
Can you not see how that is wrong? There is racism anywhere you go, from any color- and it will be like that as long as we have naive, insular people on this earth.

Ive realized that no one talks about it, but when im in school, just for being white and saying or doing something, black girls pick on me and roll their eyes and call me a cracker! I am in no way racist, whether that happens or not
and not all black girls are like that! dont get me wrong, but they dont have to worry about white girls, so why do they act like that?!?!why do they have to make white girls feel bad? whats the point? honestly, i dont care, I have plenty of black friends and I love every single one of them, ANYONE, of ANY color who doesnt like me I SAY SCREW IT!

but honestly, Ive never met a racist black man/boy

that is a very good question. when black people are racists towards white people they sometimes are only joking, nothing really serious. and also your point about white people being racists against blacks is tru, I mean white people would be pretty upset with black folks if they were racists against them before for such a long time. There's a lot of racism around the world anyway... anyplace that you go so people cant really even take racism that serious because if you do you are just wasting time. That's how I see it.

No, you are not "slow in the head". Racism is racism. I brought this point up in a business meeting last week. I won't go into details. There are racist individuals in each group of people -- it doesn't matter what country you're from.

Racism is bad either way. I have both in my family. We all accept each other for who we are, and love each other no less! You know women were treated bad back in the day too. They were expexted to cook dinner and clean houses. And they weren't able to get any kind of schooling. You don't see us freaking out on men. And my grandfather was a white slave. It wasn't all black people.

I agree. I was recently in a situation where I was discriminated against because I was white. It sure felt awful, so I can empathize with the black population for all they have endured over the years. Regardless, racism is racism and should not be tolerated from anyone. I thought we were all supposed to be created equal....

i think either way its wrong, and we should be fighting about how the white people are racist towards blacks because they were racist towards them because they were racist toward them. this gets way to confusing and in reality there is no good reason to be racist weither it is because of past offenses or not. see the way i see it, i am not racist toward anybody, so why should it be ok for a person to be racist toward me for what my ancestors did. i don't think its far. and of course it goes either way.

and its no different no matter who it comes from. its wrong and thats all there is to it. people of all racist need to stop being stupid and quit making excusses.

There's hate all around and racism can only cause more racism. In order to stop racism, one must stop being racist himself, but it's hard to "not punch someone back when they punch you", eh? What's the difference between those two? I don't know.. Racism is horrible.

Dont hate, just love your neighbor as yourself. If someone is racist, dont get mad and propogate it by reversing the hate. It seems the media loves to advertise racism to us, and we can decide whether to enjoy it or ignore it. It doesnt matter what anyone says, but what is inside you. We make our own decisions. Decide to make things right.
