I am currently 30 weeks pregnant but i never feel hungry. I know i have to eat for the baby and i do, but i always get full so easily after a few bites and i seriously mean just after a few bites. i would say that once a day i get a solid meal but that still isn't alot of food on my plate. I've only gained 16 pounds so far, i do drink like one ensure and one yogurt a day to substitute for the food whenever i feel full. the thing is I'm sooooooo worried and i don't wanna stress myself out , i know it's not good for my baby. i try my best to be positive but i can't help to stop thinking if my baby is getting everything he needs. Has anyone ever experience this lost of appetite and gave birth to a healthy baby.... PS i take my vitamins everyday. thanks in advance.

Yes, at some point during the pregnancy most women do experience a decrease in appetite, but as long as you are getting one good meal and eating small bits throughout the day you are fine.

You might see a slight increase in your appetite when the baby drops and the uterus stops pushing on your stomach.

A weight gain of 16 pounds is fine, as long as you can get close to 20-25 by the end of your pregnancy.

I gained 21 pounds with my first baby and he weighed 6.5 pounds which was fine.

When I was 38 years old my kids were 18, 15, and 12. I had been taking birth control pills for 11 years when I began to have stomach pain whenever I ate. For a couple months I lived on soup and toast then I had my yearly physical. In a surprising chain of events I found out I was 17 weeks pregnant and had no idea. I was pretty concerned that my little one had been living and growing on soup and toast and I had been losing weight, but my doctor assured me that my body would take care of the baby. I continued to have stomach pain when I ate then I developed Gestational Diabetes. I rarely had an appetite and continued to lose weight. By the time I delivered I weighed 25 pounds less than I had a year before at my previous yearly physical. Our daughter was smaller than our other 3 kids weighing in at 6 pounds 14 ounces, but she was healthy. She's 10 now and has been the healthiest of all the kids. Our bodies are amazing. Regardless of what we eat or don't eat, our bodies work hard while pregnant to make sure the baby is receiving adequate nutrition. It is hard not to worry, but you have gained weight, 16 pounds at 30 weeks sounds pretty average to me. Just continue to eat as much as you can and know that whatever you do eat will be beneficial.

The same thing happened to me. My doctor said that it was normal at this point since tha baby is high up and pressing against your stomache. I turned into a snacker. I would eat tons of times a day but little amounts. I also stalked up on finger foods that I could walk around with. Tell your doctor either way, There have been some doctors that perscribe certain protein shakes if they feel you are not getting enough.
I am 37 weeks and only gained 15lbs. It just depends on the person

I kinda felt like that towards the end of pregnancy. There was just no room in my belly, it was all baby! The best thing to do is try and eat small amounts as often as you can. Just snack a lot on nuts and dried fruits and small things like that. Still try and eat full meals too. You should see your doc, just to check that the baby is getting enough nutrients and putting on the right amount of weight also.

I never had a loss of appetite but my neice had sever anemia and looked anorexic at 5 months on because she was so ill. Her daughter was born healthy and full term and is a beautiful 11 year old girl. The ensure and the vitamins should help. Best of luck with your very healthy child in you!!!
