I despair when I see many posts every day asking for FREE sheet music or FREE downloads. How would you feel if you did a day's work but didn't get paid for it and you couldn't afford to buy food that day? Musicians love their art, of course, but it is also their livelihood. They don't just do it as a nice hobby and have a 'real' job on the side to put food on the family table.

Every time someone 'steals' (for that's what it is!) some copyrighted music (whether as a sound file or pirated (no pun intended!) sheet music), they are effectively stealing a little bit of money out of a musician's pocket. If the music isn't bought, they don't get their royalties and they are a little poorer for it.

This 'free download' mentality will kill music if we don't start paying for what we use. Would you steal food because you were peckish or steal a car because you missed the bus and had to get somewhere?

If you want it - BUY IT!!

This music is still under copyright so any free download would be illegal. Also illegal would be any arrangements offered for free download or copies (pdf, etc.) made for trading purposes.

Musician, composer,teacher.

It would be an illegal download as that music is still under copyright.

Not only would that be illegal, but it is not even classical music.
