That's why I favor research into alternative energy like solar power, maybe even collected on the moon and redirected, cars should use hydrogen fuel cells, and gasoline hybrids are only small improvements that are totally missing the point. My 2000 Saturn sedan gets better mileage than most hybrid vehicles. Example: my every day mileage is about 33 and the new Chevy Malibu Hybrid gets 24 in the city and 32 on the highway. The Big 3 automakers will be the Big 3 bankruptcies if they don't finally get a clue and concentrate on something other than gasoline.

Actually, what no one else in here seemed to notice... is that They're telling the truth..
FACT... the Dollar is dwindling,
FACT, were it not for our monstrous import debts the rest of the world would throw us a cinder block,
FACT, Tehran is within their right as a sovereign nation to build Nuclear Power plants, and there is NO Proof that they are anywhere near weapons grade production (none, sorry... turn off Bill O'Really)
Fact, We are in Deep shite when it comes to our own oil supply and production..
Fact, if we had spent the last 5 years and 500 Billion on renewable energy Instead of Iraq I wouldn't be spending $3.41 for heating oil..
Fact, the more time we spend deluding ourselves about our Imperial presence in a changing economic landscape the closer we get to the edge....
Wake The Fu@k Up Sheeple....................

No. We have more than enough coal and oil right here in our own country. I read a scientific article, which stated that we have more oil and coal in this country, than most oil producing nations put together. We just cannot drill or mine for it, because of environmental policies. If Iran and Venezuela somehow manage to cut off oil supplies to the United States, in, an attempt to destroy us economically, or the price becomes to high and we are not already using alternative energy, the government will override policies and they will opening up mines and start drilling for oil. I can promise you this. They will see national security as more important than not violating environmental policy. The most important reason for switching to an alternative source of energy, is because eventually it is all going to run out and then it won't be just the United States in trouble.

That is a very good reason too go green. But a good one also is to cut pollution so that you and you family and everyone out here will have better health. Yes going green will cut the money supply to evil people who have lots of oil and it will improve all of our lives by the affect it has on cleaning up.

Of course not. It just means its time to start using oil made from coal. We have way more coal then they have oil and making oil from coal (like the Nazi's did) only costs about $50 a barrel.

don't get frightened by that. that's the reaction they want and know they can get from the american people. i'm all for going green, but don't let the Chavez-Ahmadinejad meetings (this is the 4th time Chavez has been to Tehran) scare you. that's what they want. keep going green, but don't let a meeting between those clowns scare you. we're going to be fine.

Going "green" and finding alternative sources of energy (ANWR anybody?) are two very different things. I would say that this is a very important reason to reduce trade with OPEC and Venezuela.

Too bad the Dems have almost destroyed the earth and the US by NOT allowing us to build nuclear power plants.
Are Dems proud?

I did not know that drilling in ANWAR was "going green" but that is a darn good reason to start drilling in ANWAR, off the gulf of Mexico and in the North West shale farms.

I like how they deal with oil, the oil under the ground belongs to all the people and a profit cannot be made on the oil itself and the private corporations only get it out of the ground for the people. That is why gas is 1.23 a gal in Venezuela.
