Powell sold his soul when he stood up in fron of the UN and lied for Bush.
Zero integrity as far as I am concerned.

Well, you need to ask Colin Powell, and his answer has always been "No." If you were him, why bother? Given all he's done in his life, he doesn't need the public scrutiny, and his wife has said no.
He's happy leading a quiet life of retirement and working on his old Volvos.

Colin Powell is a dough-headed, has-been fraud.
Why on Earth would Republicans want that clown?

Unfortunate choice of words, "draft."
Anyhoo, remember the guy who held up a vial of talcum powder, pictures of photolab trailers and cartoons of weapon labs in front of the UN and said, "see? There really is a good reason to go into Iraq!!!"
That was Colin Powell. He was full of crap. On the world stage.
Haven't we had enough of "full of crap on the world stage" for awhile?

No, the Democratic Party should draft Gen. Powell into whatever role he wants.

I'd gladly switch back to the GOP -- I was a Republican for 20 years before 2000.
Powell's too smart, though. Tough.

The Bush administration destroyed Powell's credibility when they gave him provably and known false information to bring before the United Nations to justify our invasion of Iraq.
Powell has since apologized for that and criticized the administration, but he admits that he knew the intelligence was fishy at the time.
Besides that, his son Michael was FCC Chairman for a while and got shot down while trying to open up regulations that would allow big media corporations to further consolidate their hold on the public discourse. Now he works for a big media lobbying law firm. I think that might bite Powell, as well.
In general (no pun intended), I think he'd be a better candidate than any of the ones they have now, but the fight for the Republican nomination is going to hinge on who the religious right decides to vote for, and Powell certainly isn't on top of their list. (He's pro-choice, for example.)

The only thing Gen. Powell is interested in right now is a long and peaceful retirement, which he greatly deserves.

It's way too late for anyone to enter the race now. Besides, he considered a run in 2000 but changed his mind because of death threats.

No, the Republican party should not draft Colin Powell.
If they were to draft anyone.....it should be Newt Gingrich.

He is the only one that can gain back the respect OUR COUNTRY DESERVES!
He is a Military man
He is a Man of Honor and knows the cost of life when it comes to WAR.
He would not use our military to secure oil.
All the Presidential Hopefuls are good for SH-T
They are career politicions - Say yes to everything to what the people want to hear and then do nothing!
People trust him
I trust him to bring us back on top and not by MILITARY FORCE!
