first of all, i want to say im not racist. I come from a biracial family and my kid is also mixed. I firmly believe in to each to his own... Certain things just really annoy me. Like the city I live in, a bunch of muslim pple kept complaining about christmas and now we now longer have christmas trees around the city, we have to call them holiday trees. Its also not the christmas season, its the holiday season. We dont try and change anyone elses holidays, we leave Ramandan and all that alone, why cant we have christmas??

wow i feel exactly the same people should kinda keep their religion tot ehm selves dont let them stop you from calling them christmas trees and christmas i reckon you should do it right in front of their face which would really annoy them and then come out with a speach about who cares what they are called its the spirit of it all. you know something powerfull that will really get through to them that religion is stupid and just live life without any rules on what to call things im not racist at all but i just feel kinda strongly about those kinda things. on the news or in the paper there was an article about this school that didnt allow any jewelery and all christian kids were made to take their crusifixes off and all but there was this one sikh girl who wouldnt take her kara offf which is a religious bangle and her parents took the school to court. i think that was sooo stupid the school was trying to equal everyone! oh wait sorry i kinda got off the subject yeah well i like talking and any chance i get to express something i feel about i take it wierd isnt it oh well!
gd luck with whatever you choose to do!

When you say "religion really annoys me.. .?" do you realize that the holiday you are defending is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ? And lets face it no one can force you to call a tree anything you don't want to call it. But I do understand your point. You however should realize that Ramadan is not an official American holiday and will never be. However, many of the people that you refer to as muslims (which simple means "one who practices Islam") who celebrate Ramadan, are Americans who just happen to have middle eastern ancestors. So there is no threat that Christmas will eventually be displaced. So just relax and enjoy the holidays, and, if you are lucky enough to live in a culturally diverse neighborhood, maybe take a little time to get to know them a little a better and join in the celebration. At the very least you'll get to try some really incredible food!

Because people won't stand up to the special interest groups. Who was it that said "All that is needed for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing" (or something like that). The Bible also tells us that one of the signs of the end times is that Christians will be persecuted. The Bible states that we will also see a one world government (the revived Roman Empire compare to the EU) and a one world religion (the Muslims are seeking this). Now, we can see the beginnings of all three of these prophecies. It's not just the rights of Christians, but it's the rights of all Americans and people throughout the world that are being lost. The US has "separation of church from state" and it's being turned into "elimination of church from state". Isn't that what happened to the Jews under Nazi control during WW II?

Just leave everyone alone and call it the holidays, what difference does it make. I mean who cares?
You are not going to please those people, but if it helps you don't celebrate Ramandan.
what ever that is?
But don't resort to what they do when someone doesn't believe the way they do and burn down a bunch of city buildings. Riot in the street and or blow up a bunch of people.
Just chill out and ignore them and maybe they will leave us alone. Pick your battles and that is not a good one, a lot of Christians don't celebrate the holidays.
What does a christmas tree have to do with Jesus birth anyway. chill out. Let's don't get like them.

Everything about Christmas is fake so I wouldn't get too upset about it. As you are probably aware long before Jesus Christ was around pagan people celebrated the winter solstice because it was such an important date, it meant summer was on the way. Jesus Christ was actually born in June but the Christians wanted to incorporate his birthday into the pagan calendar so they changed it to December 25th.

Most of what we celebrate as Christmas these days is a Victorian creation and the reason why Santa Claus is dressed in a red suit owes more to the Coca Cola corporation than historical fact.

U can! Call it Christmas. Put up a Christmas tree.

Forget the 'holiday season'.. and have a Merry Christmas.

it SHOULD be a year-round celebration anyway.
Same w/ Earth day.

(too much worrying about what the Jones' are up to..)
Mind your own fence row...

Amen!!
i believe everyone should get to celebrate their holidays however they choose. if there is a Christmas tree up in someones town and they don't like it then maybe they should put up something that symbolizes their culture/beliefs. I'm sure they wouldn't be asked to call it something different.

Yes religion is annnoying; but faith isn't. Do you want to answer to God or to Man...

leaperpup. When people bang on about Americans or the Jews I can really understand where the Muslims are coming from. What about the 30 million Russians who died because of the Nazis; I would rather believe in their cause..
