The list of nations is extensive but only shows North American and European countries listed. Bangladesh is a mostly Muslim country but you don't see any relief pledges from Saudi Arabia, Iran, or Syria. And what about Russia and China?

Your information is incorrect. Please see the following information direct from a resident of Bangladesh. He says:

We are now slowly coming back to normalcy after the devastating cyclone (Hurricane) that struck Southern part of Bangladesh in the evening of Thursday the 15th November.

The numbers of dead are over 2000 now as officially acknowledged today on the 18th November. The figure may rise further since relief teams are yet to reach far-flung areas of coastal belt of Bay of Bengal due to bad road communication. Navy and Air Force are delivering the relief materials and the Army is helping with rebuilding the roads and homes in the affected areas.

Political parties which were inactive due to the curtailment of their recent destructive activities by the present government after the changes of 11th January 2007 are now coming out of hibernation and trying to reach people with help.

As more and more news becomes available, it is clear that the relief efforts are world wide including all the countries you have named here.

Send your donations to the Direct Relief International, a reputable charity that is sending 100% of the donations received to the relief effort.

Your neighbours home burns to the ground, you have a guest home on your property, your other neighbour lives in a one room shack, which of you can house your now homeless neighbour?

This may not be true for all nations but it covers many, also - what is your source, if it's news agencies from western nations are they not inclined to show what the west is doing to help?
