I bought a computer from a pawn shop w/ windows vista and when you turn it on to log into the person who had it before has a password how can you delete this or get around it?

You should also have the install CD that came with the computer. If you don't, you might have a stolen computer.
Put the CD in the drive with the power off, then press F8 after the you turn the computer on. It should give you a prompt to boot from CD.
That will allow you to re-install the software and clear all the passwords.

If you don't have the user password you are not going to get on that pc without the help of a hacker. The best thing to do is reformat it if you have the master disks. If not you can order them from the computer manufacturer.
